Sunglasses are becoming more and more eco-responsible
It had to happen! For a few years now, sunglasses have been trying to play the eco-friendly card, but it’s even more visible in this year 2023. After wood or recycled plastic, we are seeing the arrival of new materials, like the Gentle Factory, which is unveiling its first recycled cotton sunglasses. In addition to their design, they ride on all the current trends in terms of style, with a design inspired by the 1970s, tortoiseshell and unisex frames.

Add some color to your sunglasses!
Whether it’s glasses or sunglasses, one trend seems to be taking hold this year: colored acetate frame. Red, blue or even yellow are becoming more and more present: but if, in a casual summer outfit, this does not pose too much of a problem, it can sometimes be more difficult to match your clothes with such a palette.
For more elegant and “all-purpose” colored sunglasses, we recommend models in brown or khaki tones, or even burgundy or dark blue.
Travel back in time with round glasses in 70’s style
Almost every year, men’s fashion takes a little trip back in time. In the ready-to-wear department, it’s the 90s that have recently made a strong comeback for some time, while 2000s fashion is shaping up to be one of the big trends for 2023. To protect your eyes from the sun, however, you’ll have to go a little further, all the way to the 1970s!

Crystal glasses to see the future
Over time, we end up no longer knowing if crystal frames are on trend or… completely outdated! In any case, for this summer 2023, they still seem to have their say!
The term “crystal” refers to these glasses (sunglasses or glasses) that are more or less transparent. Often made of plastic, these rather ordinary-looking models can add a touch of originality to your look. Especially if they are combined with colored or mirrored lenses. Those that were once reserved for cycling or running, for example, are also making their way into urban silhouettes this summer.. And since oversized models are also in fashion, don’t hesitate to score a double: originality guaranteed!
Dare to use geometric shapes!
Round is certainly still popular, but more angular sunglasses also have their say: square frames, of course, but also those with more facets, like hexagonal glasses, as we saw in the optical section. In this summer of 2023, it’s time to reconcile with geometry, gentlemen. And you won’t even have to get your set square or compass out to do it!
Here, the frames are quite thin and the shapes vary: after the hexagon of 2022, the bob seems to be THE big trend for 2023but why not imagine triangles or octagons for even more originality?
Tortoiseshell frames are back in fashion!
While wooden frames seem to have had their day, tortoiseshell sunglasses are making a comeback. Some would say they never really left, but they are definitely set to be a must-have for summer 2023.
This motif has the merit ofbring a little fantasy while maintaining a good dose of elegance. Vintage inspiration rubs shoulders with more modern designs and as scales are appearing on all types of frames, it’s easy to understand why you won’t be able to escape them this year!
Iconic and timeless sunglasses to avoid bad taste
We’ll end this overview of the new trends in the “sunglasses” section with the timeless pairs, those that you can always wear without feeling old-fashioned (and those that will suit you whatever the shape of your face!).
In this little game, it is difficult not to mention the Ray-Ban brandpopular with both men and women, whether it’s the Wayfarer or the Clubmaster (with a touch of tortoiseshell!). But “historical” competitors like Persol also have their say with their folding glasses and their vintage frames in (more or less) colored tortoiseshell.
Finally, we could also have mentioned the case of driver or aviator sunglassesa sure value in the men’s department, or that of mirrored lenses for men eager for a hint of originality. In short, you see, there is only the embarrassment of choice to be stylish before summer!
